Another decade, another attack on the good stuff.

It seems that every eight or twelve years there’s a shift. From conservative to liberal, the pendulum will swing from one extreme to the other. As sure as the sun will rise and set, the knee jerk reaction of the American citizen to change is to huddle in a corner together as far away from the change as possible. It’s a dance that has gone on for generations and it’s only getting worse.

This swinging from left to right has deepened the rift between the various political mindsets, leading to an imaginary war. Now the mission isn’t to help the people, but to fuck with the people that feel differently than we do. So as a result, every time the swing comes there’s this frantic rush to destroy everything the other people have accomplished… even if it’s a positive change.

One thing that is always on the chopping block is Public Broadcasting. Who would have thought that something as simple as accountable news reporting, educating children and distributing the arts to everyone that is interested would be as controversial as abortion or health care. I would think that offering help to parents trying to teach their children how to count would be welcome, especially for the low price that Public Broadcasting delivers their product. I guess I’m just a social softy and think that we should help each other out or try to make the world a better place. Regardless, this isn’t the first time that shortsighted and narrow-minded people have attacked Public Broadcasting and I’m sure it won’t be the last.

It’s just a shame that Mr Rogers isn’t here. I bet he could solve this issue in under ten minutes… again…

Say something... I dare you.
