Comic book update

The comic book is on track to happen. After talking to quite a few talent young artists, I have finally picked one for the project. I will be letting you know more about them once we get the Kickstarter going.

Speaking of the Kickstarter, I plan on having it up by the end of the month if everything goes to plan. The page will reveal the basic story information, art samples, and more. The original plan was for this to be a 6 issue mini-series. While it would be cheaper to fund the first issue of the story, I decided to just go big. The project will be to fund the entire story in one go. The comic will be released digitally each month as it is completed. Then there will be a paperback collection when all six chapters have been released.

But look at me, trying to sell it before I even tell you what it is. I don’t want to give it away till you can see the art. Because it’s one thing to read it and another to see it! The art style isn’t what I had originally envisioned for the story, but my gut told me I might not know what I need. I think I found an amazing young talent to work with. I can’t help but feel like in 10 years and people say that this was their “break out.” Odds are I might only be recognized as the person that helped them gain the public’s eye.

The comic itself is going to be my focus for the next few weeks. As I started going through the script, it became painfully clear that it’s not good enough. Not sure what possessed me to think that it was good enough to send out to publishers. Needless to say, I completely understand why they never called. And as Ed will attest, it was woefully undescriptive as well. Giving freedom to an artist to explore a panel is one thing, but what I did was give them plenty of rope to hang themselves. Luckily, the plot holds up. It’s an interesting story that has actually been called “fucking rad” by some. True Story.

Anyways, that’s all for now. Amazing artist found, Kickstarter coming soon, story is fucking rad.

Say something... I dare you.
