but you know he was probably drunk right? seriously though, even if he wasn’t, trying to correct the behavior of dicks saying these awful things is pointless. well, trying to correct them by making them feel bad anyway. the only way to deal with it is to ask them square on and in all seriousness, “why does it make you feel good to that someone you dont know burned to death?” they’ll deny it but they’ll always know that you called them on their shit.

I honestly find some of these search engines have dumbed down their search to the point I can no longer use it. I’m shocked by how many search engines and site search engines don’t even support boolean logic anymore.

I understand they want to make it accessible to as many people as possible, but come on…

Strangely enough, do you think that the computer Watson that was on Jeopardy recently could be the next big step in search engines? It would be like Ask Jeeves… only it would, you know… work.

I see the same thing – I instinctively know how to phrase my search to get the results I want. At the same time, I know that one of the big goals of search engines in general is to better understand what your search phrase means and be able to match that to what pages are actually about.

Going beyond word matching to conceptual searches is something you’ll see in the next couple of years across the internet.

Yeah, I might get some crap for this but I am willing to publicly say I enjoy “Shock Treatment” more than “Rocky Horror.” Not to say Rocky isn’t amazing, just something about the surreal trippiness and the awesome music that gets me with Shock Treatment.
